1. Information we collect
Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from your Google account. We use these to create your account and show who you are inside the app.
Your content. Everything you create in BrainSwitchs: projects, canvases, pages, notebooks, databases, sheets, checklists, files and images you upload, links you add, and decisions you record.
Usage records you create. Focus sessions, sprint and Tracker times, your chosen mode (Logical or Creative) and scheduled tasks. These power your Timeline, Calendar and Living Brain.
Sharing information. If you share a project, we store the email addresses you invite and the members of that project.
Technical information. Our hosting and database providers keep standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type, and the time and address of requests. These are used for security and to keep the service running. If the app hits an error, we may record a technical error report to fix the bug.
Stored on your device. The website and app save preferences in your browser's local storage, such as light or dark theme, language and time format, and a sign-in session so you stay logged in. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
2. Google user data
BrainSwitchs uses Google sign-in only to authenticate you. We request the basic scopes needed for that: your name, email address and profile picture (openid, email, profile). We do not request access to your Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, contacts or any other Google data.
We use this information only to create and secure your account, show your name and picture in the app, and let collaborators recognize you when you share a project. We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or transfer it to anyone except the service providers listed below who help us run BrainSwitchs.
BrainSwitchs' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
The "Add to Google Calendar" option in the app only opens a pre-filled Google Calendar page in your browser. It does not give BrainSwitchs access to your calendar.
3. How we use information
- To provide the app: store your work, sync it across your devices and show it back to you.
- To run features you ask for, such as sharing, link previews, exports and your Timeline and Living Brain.
- To keep BrainSwitchs secure, prevent abuse and fix bugs.
- To contact you about your account or important changes to the service.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. Items you delete go to the Bin in Archive, and are removed for good when you empty the Bin. When you delete your account, we delete your account and content from our active systems within 30 days. Backups held by our providers are overwritten on their normal schedule.
6. Your choices and rights
You can view, edit and export your content at any time from inside the app, as Markdown, Word, PNG or a full backup. To delete your account and all of your data, email sahil@infosized.co from the address you sign in with, and we will confirm once it's done.
You can also remove BrainSwitchs' access to your Google account at any time from your Google Account permissions page.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or move your personal data, or to object to some uses of it. Email us to use any of these rights. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
7. Security
Your data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to your workspace is limited to your account and the people you share with, using database-level access rules. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and will let you know if a breach affects you.
8. International transfers
Our providers may store and process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, they use legal safeguards such as standard contractual clauses for these transfers.
9. Children
BrainSwitchs is not intended for children under 13, or under 16 where local law sets a higher age. We do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will also let you know in the app or by email before they take effect.
